MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY REFINES OUTBOUND TRAFFIC PLAN
FOR NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES RACES IN 2007

OUTBOUND TRAFFIC PATTERN REVISED WITH SUPPORT OF MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND LOCAL TOWNSHIPS

BROOKLYN, Mich. (January 26, 2007) — In a continuing commitment to improve the fan experience at Michigan International Speedway, track officials, together with the Michigan Department of Transportation and surrounding townships, have made changes to the speedway’s outbound traffic pattern.

These outbound traffic initiatives are some of the most significant improvements at Michigan International Speedway in the track’s 39-year history, speedway President Roger Curtis said.

“Traffic affects every single person who comes to Michigan International Speedway, so I can’t emphasize how important this outbound traffic plan is,” Curtis said. “A primary concern at any sporting facility has to be addressing traffic. It is our top priority to get all our race fans home safely and in a timely manner following the races. This revised, outbound pattern will help us in doing that, and will improve the overall guest experience.”

MDOT and MIS studied the traffic patterns extensively over the past six months to come up with the revised post-race traffic plan. More than 150,000 guests in about 40,000 vehicles travel to the racetrack for a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race, so Curtis stressed the importance of strong partnerships with MDOT, the Michigan State Police, POCO, Inc., a traffic control device company, and township law enforcement agencies to manage race-day traffic for each race weekend. Finally, the track’s operations staff and parking supervisors coordinate it all with the help of countless volunteer groups and GameDay Management Group, a traffic control company that has supervised traffic control for events such as the Daytona 500 and Detroit’s Super Bowl XL in 2006.

Following the speedway’s NEXTEL Cup Series races on Sunday, June 17 and Sunday, Aug. 19, outbound traffic will be routed as follows:

1. A one-way pattern will occur on M-50 North from Brooklyn to Napoleon.

2. The two-lane outbound pattern on US-12 East will extend from MIS to M-52.

A modified version of this traffic pattern on a smaller scale was tested following the August 2006 NEXTEL Cup race with immediate results. Curtis said he received several e-mails and phone calls from race fans after that race who said they noticed a significant decrease in the time it took to travel back to their homes.

Curtis also believes that continuous scrutiny of the traffic plan and continued improvements on US-12, one of the speedway’s primary road arteries, will continue to make traffic flow out of the speedway even faster. MDOT and the State of Michigan unveiled a three-year plan last year that allocated $18.5 million in safety and access improvements along US-127 and US-12, the key corridors around MIS. The plan also includes placing directional signs to MIS along state roads and interstates near the track.

“By making improvements along this and other key corridors in south central Michigan, it confirms our commitment to the economic vitality that MIS brings to this state, and in particular to Jackson and Lenawee counties,” Dee Parker, MDOT’s Jackson Transportation Service Center (TSC) manager, said. “We hope these road improvements will be greatly welcomed by race fans in an effort to make travel easier to and from MIS on race day. We welcome working with MIS to enhance race day travel for our customers.”

The surrounding townships of Brooklyn, Cambridge Township and Napoleon have seen the plan and some have submitted letters of approval and support to MDOT for it. Speedway and MDOT officials met also with safety and law enforcement agencies from many of the surrounding townships to make sure everyone is aware of the plan.

The traffic initiatives are another step in Michigan International Speedway’s commitment to the fans. Several other fan enhancement projects for 2007 are under way at MIS, including the replacement of grandstand seating in Turn One. Two grandstands in Turn One have been torn down and are being replaced with new, fan friendly grandstands. The new grandstands offer race fans premium seating and amazing sightlines of MIS’ two-mile oval. The new seats are four inches wider than the seats in the old grandstands, and will allow fans to have more leg room. All of the new seats are bench-style with seat backs. The new grandstands are also 10 rows higher than the old grandstands so fans who sit there will have breathtaking views of all the on-track action at MIS — including a fantastic view down pit road. The new seats will carry Michigan International Speedway’s familiar and distinct yellow and red pattern.

Along with the new Turn One seating, MIS is in the process of enhancing tram stops and will purchase additional trams for disabled guests, as well as build premium RV camping along pit road.

Tickets for all the speedway’s races, including the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Michigan 400 on June 17 and the 3M Performance 400 on August 19, are on sale by calling the MIS Ticket Hotline at 1-800-354-1010 or by visiting www.MISpeedway.com.

Kansas Speedway Requesting Legislation to Protect Rights

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Jan. 9, 2007) – Kansas Speedway is requesting to introduce a bill that will protect fans and their intellectual property rights from unauthorized use.

“Kansas Speedway wants to protect fans from buying admissions to our events from for-profit organizations they believe are authorized to resell our tickets,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Our fans come first and with this bill we can help ensure fans have valid tickets to all of our races without paying a significantly higher price for that ticket.”

The bill will make certain that fans will not be led to believe that they are purchasing from an authorized seller and fines will be issued to those caught misleading fans.

“People buying tickets to great events like those at Kansas Speedway need to know from whom they are buying their tickets,” said NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications and NASCAR Touring Jim Hunter. “When ticket customers buy tickets from speedway box offices, they know the tickets are valid. When tickets are not purchased at the box office, fans are not only paying a higher price for the ticket but they can not ensure that the tickets are legitimate.”

Kansas Speedway’s seventh season of racing kicks off the weekend of April 27 with the IndyCar Series Kansas Lottery 300, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 and the ARCA Re/Max Series Kansas Lottery $150 Grand.

Season tickets for the 2007 season are on sale now and include five exciting races – the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Kansas 400 (Sept. 30), the NASCAR Busch Series Yellow Transportation 300 and USAC kansasspeedway.com 100 (Sept. 29), the IndyCar Series Kansas Lottery Indy 300 (April 29) and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 (April 28). To purchase tickets, call 866.460.RACE or log onto www.kansasspeedway.com. Parking is always free at Kansas Speedway and fans may bring 6x6x12-inch soft-sided coolers with their favorite food and beverage into the grandstands.

2006 Kansas Speedway Toy “Drive” Culminates

Kansas City, Kan. (December 14, 2006) - Kansas Speedway employees have once again teamed with Dr. Ron Malcolm and his wife, Sherrie, to help bring smiles to local children.

For the second straight year, Kansas Speedway employees have answered Dr. Malcolm’s call to assist with the toy drive and to date, approximately 140 items have been donated by Kansas Speedway staff.

Dr. Malcolm, a principal at F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kan., is the driving force behind the program. Having noticed a significant need in his community, Dr. Malcolm conceived an idea to collect items and disperse them to families throughout Wyandotte County. The program accepts donations of toys and gift cards from schools, churches and local businesses and puts them in the hands of parents and legal guardians who have indicated a desire to participate.

“We encourage our employees to become an active part of the community,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Through organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kiwanis International, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Boys and Girls Club and the Children’s Museum of Kansas City our employees donate their time and resources to help the Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas communities. Dr. Malcolm’s program is one more example of our employees supporting the community.”

“Parents and guardians who wouldn’t normally be able to provide for their children this holiday season are able to pick out items, wrap them up and put them under the tree just as if they had purchased everything directly from the store,” said Dr. Malcolm. “Most children never know the toys were donated.”

ENGINE FAILURE LEADS TO DISAPPOINTING FINISH FOR BLISS AND BAM RACING TEAM

AVONDALE, Ariz. (Nov. 13, 2006) – With a history at Phoenix International Raceway that spans over 20 years, Mike Bliss was confident in his knowledge of the 1.0-mile oval in the Arizona desert and in the strides the BAM Racing team has made over the past weeks. Following a respectable run in Texas, Bliss was once again tasked with qualifying for Sunday’s race on time. Successfully completing the task, Bliss lined up to start the Checker Auto Parts 500 in the 38 th position. He ran a strong race and posted competitive lap times until the engine on the No. 49 Dodge failed. Bliss finished the race in 41 st place.

In qualifying on Friday, Bliss took to the track early running a fast lap time of 27.448 seconds at a speed of 130.966 miles per hour. The afternoon heat slowed lap times for the first part of the qualifying session but Bliss managed to secure a 38 th place starting position for the race. As racing action began on Sunday, Bliss was aware of the challenge before him. At a track where cars at the rear of the field go a lap down quickly, he took the green flag with the determination necessary to race through the field and remain on the lead lap.

By lap 20, Bliss relayed that the WhatsOnline.com Dodge was tight overall. By lap 50, he was successfully running the high line on the track and had worked his up to the 30 th position while posting speeds equal to those running in the top-10. Bliss was running in the 27 th position when the first caution of the day came out on lap 71 for debris. He radioed that the BAM Racing Dodge was tight entering the turns but handled well on exit. He came to pit road for four tires, fuel and a spring rubber was removed from the left rear spring.

“We’re running in the 26 th position,” radioed crew chief David Hyder. “You’ve come a long way from where we started. We’ll keep working on it.” When the next caution came out on lap 151, Bliss had just gone a lap down to the leader and noted that the No. 49 Dodge remained tight on entry. He came to pit road for four tires, fuel, track bar and air pressure adjustments, and a spring rubber was inserted into the left rear spring. At the mid-point of the race, Bliss was running in the 29 th position and racing to become the first car one lap down.

The BAM Racing team used the next three cautions to make further adjustments to the WhatsOnline.com Dodge. With less than 100 laps to go, Bliss was running in the 33 rd position and relayed that the adjustments had greatly improved the racecar. Then, without warning, the engine on the BAM Racing Dodge blew up on lap 265 and ended the race early for the team. Although he had a strong car and ran fast lap speeds all afternoon, Bliss finished the race in 41 st place. “Our finish today is disappointing,” commented Bliss. “Our car was competitive but track position is key at tracks like Phoenix. Starting from the back of the field definitely hindered us but we ran strong and had a fast car. Unfortunately, the engine blew just as we were ready to make a late-race charge to the front.”

TAKING RACING TO A “NEW LEVEL,” RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY TO BUILD 18-STORY GRANDSTAND; EXPANSION PROJECT TO INCREASE CAPACITY BY NEARLY 5,000

RICHMOND, VA AUGUST 9, 2006- Leading into the track’s 30th straight NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series sellout next month, Richmond International Raceway president Doug Fritz announced today the details of a wide-ranging, fan-friendly seat expansion project that will help keep pace for the demand of one of the most coveted tickets in all of sports.
The highlight of the multi-million dollar capital improvement project is the addition of 7,843 seats in a new, state-of-the-art, 18-story structure located in Turn One behind the current Commonwealth Grandstand. The new, three-tiered grandstand will also include a luxurious 700-person, members-only Club for individual fans looking to enjoy a race weekend in style or businesses seeking to entertain clients. The Club will also serve as a unique and trendy place for special events on non-race weekends throughout the year.
The project, which will be completed in time for the track’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series doubleheader weekend in May 2007, also has a fan-friendly flavor to it, as each seat in the new grandstand will be an individual chair with arm rests. Additionally, in response to the thousands of requests by fans over the years, workers will remove a total of 2,911 obstructed view seats in two different grandstands: the first eight rows of obstructed view seats in each section of the Old Dominion grandstand (Turn three) and the first ten rows of the “A” and “B” sections of the Colonial grandstand (Turn four). Those seats were originally built during the 1988 expansion and track reconfiguration project.
In total the project will net 4,932 additional seats, raising the capacity to 112,029:
[107,097 (current capacity) + 7,843 (new grandstand seats) minus 2,911 (removal of obstructed view seats) = 112,029]
“The fans have spoken and we have responded,” said Fritz. “Comfort and sightlines are two issues our fans tell us are extremely important to them. I am extremely pleased that ISC (parent company International Speedway Corporation) has provided us the

opportunity to add a significant number of seats so more fans can enjoy the best short track action in the sport. The removal of the obstructed view seats in the Old Dominion and Colonial Grandstands will also enhance the experience for our fans. I am extremely pleased that the additions and changes you will see at Richmond International Raceway for 2007 will be a direct result of the input from our fans, who are the most loyal in the sport.”
The new grandstand will be comprised of three separate levels, the Commonwealth
Mezzanine, the Club Level and the Commonwealth Tower (see separate sheet for details). The 180-foot structure will be twice as high as the current grandstand and will become one of the tallest structures in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area.
Starting today, current ticket holders will begin to receive information in the mail about how to upgrade into the new grandstand. In addition, fans who have been waiting patiently on the track’s extensive waiting list will receive information about how to purchase tickets once the upgrade process is completed. Fans who would like to be added to the waiting list can visit www.rir.com or call 1-866-455-RACE (7223) for details.
Richmond International Raceway last added seats for the 2004 season, when a 1,400-seat expansion project increased the track’s capacity to 107,097. In the past 19 years, the track’s seating capacity has increased 124%, from 50,000 for the September 1988 race, to 112,029 for the 2007 season.
Construction on the new grandstand has begun. Amenities will include six new, ADA-compliant restrooms and five new concession stands.
Key construction milestones include the completion of footings and foundation, (August 31) structure erected (December 31) and seats installed (March 31). The dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.
The project will also provide a tremendous economic boost to Henrico County and the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area. An independent economic impact study conducted around previous expansion projects shows that for every 1,000 seats the track adds, more than $4.3 million is pumped into the area economy. Thus, the project will generate more than $21 million in annual economic impact.
The lead construction and design company for the project is Taylor and Parrish, Inc., while the lead architectural firm is Baskervill. Both companies are located in Richmond. In total, 22 of the 27 contractors working on the project are located in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area.

The 2007 season at Richmond International Raceway will include three separate race weekends: NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and NASCAR Busch Series doubleheaders in May and September and an open wheel weekend in June featuring the IndyCar Series, the USAC Silver Crown Series and the USAC National Sprint Car Series.
